Key Opinion Leader on the use of Extracellular Vesicles as Therapy

Julieanne Corr, Journalist with “The Sunday Business Post”, interviewed Prof. Lorraine O’Driscoll as a key opinion leader (KOL) on the use of extracellular vesicles (EVs) as therapeutics.

The particular focus of the article was the improper use of EVs by cosmetic industry, including EVs-containing injections into the face. Unlike the use of EVs for clinical benefit e.g. in cancer, regulations around their use as cosmetics are lacking.

Prof. O’Driscoll urges the introduction of regulations around this area, for the protection and safety of the public and the industry.
